Admission is free for IL residents on Tuesdays, year round.

A dinner buffet prepared by Wolfgang Puck Catering is available for $25 per person, and features a changing menu of dishes created using fresh, locally grown produce from the MCA Farmers' Market. Tables are limited call 312.397.4034 or email to reserve your spot.

For a more casual evening, bring a blanket or rent an MCA lawn chair ($5 each) to relax on the garden lawn. Hamburgers, house-made sausages, and a variety of freshly made salads may be purchased from our outdoor grill along with cold beverages, wine, and seasonal cocktails from the cash bar on the lower terrace. Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the sculpture garden.

In case of rain, the event takes place inside Puck's Cafe.

Chicago artist Tatsu Aoki has been making films and music together for over 30 years. Tonight he presents an evening of film and live soundscape, featuring selected works that use experimental and diaristic techniques to transform and examine the everyday world, including Puzzle III (2003), GATE (2010) and a special preview of his new digital work Lights.

Live music by Tatsu Aoki Unit, with renowned sound creator/composer/musician Jonathan Chen and others.

Tatsu Aoki is a prolific and accomplished musician, composer, filmmaker and educator. He works in a wide array of musical styles, ranging from traditional Asian music to jazz to experimental music, and has recorded over 100 albums. He studied experimental filmmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is currently an adjunct Associate Professor in the Film, Video and New Media Department. His films continue to be screened internationally.

Chicago artist Tatsu Aoki has been straddling an ambitious music and film career for over 30 years. As a bassist, he combines eastern and western influences using improvisational jazz and traditional Japanese music that has sustained over 90 recordings and attracted widespread acclaim. As a filmmaker, he has been producing an extensive body of work that uses experimental and diaristic techniques to transform and examine his everyday world. For this program, Tatsu will be presenting several lesser-seen works from his extensive filmography, and performing a live acoustic set with musical collaborator Jonathan Chen. Guest artist Adebukola Bodunrin will also present a new experimental work. (various years, 16mm, video, total time approximately 90 min.)
